Single Kate Takes on Eight

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Jon and Kate are already in splitsville. Your kids don't run up to their dad and say "Daddy, I miss you. I don't want you to go away anymore" at their birthday party if you're trying to make your marriage work.

So here's the deal. You know how most hairstylists are psychologists? It's true - I know three hairstylists and they all have psychology degrees. Well, Kate's 'do looks a little high maintenance. I'm guessing Kate gets regular chops - and that doesn't even cover the regular stylings for each filming. She needs to find a stylist who can work a little psychological magic while she's spiking. A little spiking, a little "tell me how that makes you feel", and hopefully a litlle "it's time to put an end to the 3 ring circus you're running and concentrate on your family" would do everyone involved with this show some good.

Thoughts? Opinions? Gosselin induced headaches? Are they already split? Conspiracy theories? Let's hear it.

  1. This whole situation makes me sad.... A family who, in my mind, already "had it all" is ruined by fame and money..... They had each other, their children and a happy family.... Now they have nothing but trouble. The media doesn't do good for anyone involved.

  2. It makes me sad too, and I don't even watch the show. It also frustrates me that as people who proclaim themselves born-again Christians, they don't seem to be making much of an effort to save their marriage--I guess they must not have been paying too much attention when they renewed their vows recently.

I'm sorry, that was a bit snippy, wasn't it?!

  3. It makes be really sad. I love the show and I love Kate, but I really think she needs to concentrate on her family-what a great family it was. As always, the media wins and splits another couple-I think they are already done.

  4. Honestly, I've never liked Kate (she has her nice moments) but she sort of treats Jon like a child. That said, he sort of needs it b/c he's got his moments too. It takes 2 to make a marriage work but it also takes 2 to contribute to its demise, too.

The sad thing is that they would probably stay together just for the children. I've seen it happen amongst my friends who have just ONE kiddo.

  5. Its all way to sad to even put on the air!!! Kate is controlling and Jon is a bit of a child so she needed to rule him and he needed to listen...b/c he proved what happens when he doesnt' listen to her??
I think all this Jon and Kate plus 8 went straight to their heads and when the show is done they will realize how great they had it!

  6. I was surprised when watching the premiere to hear Kate say, "I'm here. I'm here everyday. I wish I knew what was going on." It really sounded like she wanted to make everything work. John, on the other hand, with his new little sports car and 23-year old girlfriend seems to be having a teeny bit of a mid-life crisis.

  7. I think it is a publicity stunt :)

either that or those babies aren't real...they are robots. and so are John & Kate...just 10 of TLC's best mechanical humanoids :)

side note...did I hear that Edward Scissorhands does Kate's haircut? no? just checking.

  8. Kate honestly does not seem to respect Jon at all (at least on camera). She seems to eamsculate him and my observations are that he acts much like a whipped puppy with her. So beaten down that he does not even try anymore. Their relationship is not a poster child for a happy marriage, much less a christian marriage.

I have only watched for 4 months now, but I think it has been dying for a long time and they are finally putting a stake in it. Maybe this "error in judgment" was Jon's means of escape.

  9. I've only watched the show once, and in that episode she was getting her hair done as the hubs was doing all the work to get them ready for a vacation. Then, she blew up at him. She seemed like a psychopath to me.

But, with that said - I feel bad for the kiddos. They were thrust into the spotlight far too early, in my opinion.

  10. The whole situation is just bad. They had to have known when they signed up for the show 5 years ago that they could become famous and with fame comes media. We have seen all this drama with all celebrities. They kept saying over and over how they didnt sign up for all this. But didnt they? Everytime they signed for a new season??

And knowing your fanbase being that large....should you really be out partying with some girl when you know your wife is crazy? If it were me, I wouldnt cross that line with Crazy McCrazyson....

  11. I used to loooove that show. I even read Kate's book last year (which was very good then, but I'm sure it would be hard to stomach NOW). The last season or so totally changed from a cute show about a loving home understandably full of stress, to everyone suddenly being in it for themselves. I don't watch it anymore. :(
